Yay! It's finally here! Gabriella Tafoya's Senior year!
If you don't know who Gabriella is (aka Gaby), let me tell you….She's my oldest daughter. The year 2015-2016 is her Senior year, and she has been planning and talking about what she wants to do for her senior photos for over a year now.
This summer she found the perfect skirt and knew she already had a blouse that would go perfect with it…then she started the hunt for the absolute best shoe to complete the outfit. Initially she wasn't sure where we would photograph her in this outfit she created.
So one day I had to take her in to see the Orthopedic (another story for another day) and asked her what she wanted for lunch after her appointment. Well, we ended up at the Route 66 Diner and she loved it, especially the chocolate covered banana milkshake! We were almost done with lunch and she commented on how this would be a cool place for senior photos.
Take a peek at a few of her favorite photographs from her senior photo session we had at the Route 66 Diner on Central & University in Albuquerque and let us know what you think. By the way, the lipstick was my idea. The rest was all hers, including the cool car which we borrowed from a friend (Thanks Mito).
Keep checking back because she didn't just have one idea she had several, at least one for every season!
We were given the wonderful opportunity to photograph Ashley and Naomi’s wedding!
Ashley and Naomi met in high school and dated for 12 years, before Naomi proposed on Thanksgiving in 2011. They chose to get married at the Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town for its authentic New Mexican atmosphere and beautiful spring courtyard for their special day. In keeping their reception at the Hotel Albuquerque allowed for convenient catering and extended enjoyment of the refined New Mexican environment.
Ashley found her wedding dress at Ella Blu in El Paso, Texas and picked a magnificent dress that was completely beaded with swirl details of crystals and pearls. She carried herself with great confidence and poise in her dress! Naomi and her groomsmen found their sharp tuxedos at Suits Unlimited.
Ashley and Naomi did not see each other before the wedding ceremony and they would not have changed a thing about it! They loved the surprise of seeing each other as Ashley entered. The brilliant flowers at Ashley and Naomi’s wedding were provided by Tara Nelson, who had great knowledge and experience.
Some tips that Ashley and Naomi advise is to communicate with your wedding party and family to be in one place for the photography session, think specifically on what type of pictures you are looking for, and to especially “take it all in and enjoy it!” They eluded that all the crazy, fun, stressful, exciting, and overwhelming sensations leading up to that one big emotion at the end was well worth it. To them, it was indescribable!
Here’s some wedding photographs of moments captured from their extraordinary day!

I fell in love with this photo session as soon as Baby Gio came in the door. Immediately I knew that this would be an exciting session because of his awareness, attentiveness and joyfulness. It was clear to me that his parents love and appreciate him just based on his attitude. In addition, this family had so many great ideas and different styles for this photo shoot.
Here are some of my personal favorites of this very, very happy baby!

I recently photographed Semele and Patrick and was just amazed at how they seemed to know what the other was thinking without any words being said! Nonetheless, Patrick kept Semele laughing throughout their engagement session. They were a fun couple!
We met at our studio in Corrales and we knew that Semele and Patrick wanted the natural setting of the bosque for their photographs.
So here are a few of the best photos from their day.
As the evening light started to soften and cast its warm glow on the day, we wanted to capture the feeling of being enclosed in an intimate moment shared between a couple, before the guests arrived for the festivities of their reception. Our couple arrived on a horse drawn carriage; just as you would expect would happen in a fairy tale. We spent the next hour photographing these special moments for them to forever treasure as their love story continues.
Our photographs are featured in the Perfect Wedding Guide's Blog about style trends for 2015. Please visit their blog to view additional photographs from our evening.

Today I want you to meet Michelle Montoya. Dedicated, professional and enjoyable are the words that come to mind when I think about this beautiful lady. Michelle and I met recently when she was looking for someone to photograph her for some new acting headshots. Here are a few images from her session.
Michelle was great to work with, she had some great ideas on what she wanted. She was also willing to take direction as well, which I’m sure will benefit her in her acting career.
Best of luck Michelle. I know you’ll be very successful!
Are you looking for something fun to do this Friday?

We are all pretty busy here, but I wanted to take the time to share some photographs from a Mother of the Bride/Groom Trunk Show I recently attended at Bridal Elegance by Darlene. The staff at Bridal Elegance are great! They helped me try on a couple of dress after the show was over. If you are in need of any gorgeous gowns they will definitely be able to help you look your best.
The gowns shown here are from the Jade Couture and Jade by Jasmine Collections. If you like a style but not sure about the color, these gowns come in many different color choices. I had a couple of favorites myself, and you can find out which these are by visiting my Facebook. Please share which are your favorites.
Had a great time this evening shooting Alicia's High School Senior Photographs!
The most often asked question I get from seniors is "What do I wear?" I always suggest that you were clothes that reflects your style first. Then wear colors that complement you, in the image above Alicia chose to wear a top that brings out her eyes and her jacket goes great with her highlights in her hair.
We always encourage our clients to share their ideas and thoughts. When we were on our way back to the studio Alicia noticed the beautiful colors in the sky and we were able to capture those colors for her. As it turned out this was one of her favorite shots!
